About
I like to be outside, where I am happiest. We are pedestrian-based creatures, and the land and how we move through it defines us. It is not just about being in nature and connecting to it, but it is also about connecting to our own wild nature. That is our fundamental state. It is where we come from and where we belong.
My dad taught us that it is our duty as human beings to learn at least one good thing every day. I
am naturally curious and committed to learning. He also taught us that love is the most important thing. I am devoted to love.
I am prone to wonder, and comfortable with the idea that not everything can be contained by reason. Not everything can be given an explanation. There are many ways of understanding and many forms of language. Things are larger than words. So much so, that I feel compelled to say something, or even shout about it. That is why I paint.
The world and the people in it are immensely beautiful. Each year my capacity for joy and beauty grows. I want to be involved with as much art as I can. Art matters. It inspires change. We evolve by pushing consciousness forward with full intention. We refine our words and images and tell better and more honest stories.
There is an odd sort of alchemy in the method and process of production. That is where the magic happens. Good production is its own art form. Respect and kindness are a necessary foundation for the collaboration. You create momentum by providing positive space that fosters engagement and empowers people.
I like to focus on the experience. Art grows and discovers its own path, it comes in the resolution of the obstacle(s). We find solutions and we figure it out. It is important to pay attention and keep getting up. The key is to surround yourself with good and capable people.
I have been truly fortunate in my career and have been part of many incredible projects. The best element has been the people on both sides of the lens. It is a gift to be part of this work.
